Prior to co-founding M+C Collective, Tasto served as Vice President, Film Marketing at IMAX Corporation. As an 11 year veteran of IMAX, she led the marketing for original documentaries as well as marketing for studio releases on behalf of IMAX Entertainment. Her purview included management of a global team encompassing Digital, Field Marketing, Promotions, Educational/Group Sales, Publicity, and Creative. Since joining the Company in 2002 as a Manager, Film Marketing, she actively contributed to the studio business model since its inception, which grossed $2.5 billion in box office during her tenure, resulting in IMAX® becoming a first-class, premium distribution platform and consumer brand.
Tasto developed integrated marketing campaigns for numerous IMAX releases including the Harry Potter series; The Dark Knight Trilogy including both The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises - which featured unprecedented use of IMAX cameras; Tron Legacy, the first film to feature expanded IMAX aspect ratio; Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, the first studio film to have an IMAX early run, and The Polar Express, the first studio film to be converted to IMAX® 3D and the catalyst for the modern 3D resurgence.
During her tenure, Tasto and team also created and implemented marketing campaigns for some of the most beloved and critically-acclaimed IMAX documentaries including Born to be Wild, Hubble 3D, Deep Sea 3D, and others which have collectively grossed more than $250 million in box office to date.
Tasto also held several marketing and publicity positions at companies including Paramount Pictures and Destination Films. She holds a BA from the Annenberg School of Communications at the University of Southern California.
Prior to co-founding M+C Collective, Garcia was a Motion Picture Marketing Agent at Creative Artists Agency (CAA), the world’s leading entertainment and sports agency. During her 14 years at the agency, Garcia represented digital marketers in the motion picture, television, and video game arenas, including such leading marketing and distribution companies as Mondo, Digital Kitchen, 42 Entertainment, NowLive, Five33, IMAX, Prima Cinema, NCM, and Signature Creatives, among others.
Garcia also worked on behalf of the agency’s director, producer, actor, and game developer clients as well as studios and networks to help develop innovative and effective campaigns that reach consumers. She provided insight and guidance in all areas of marketing, including domestic and international release strategies, and media planning across all platforms.
With an increased industry focus on the purchasing power of ethnic minority groups, Garcia was instrumental in helping to develop and execute targeted marketing strategies for entertainment and media companies and contributed to the campaigns for many client projects, including Monsters University, Avengers, We’re The Millers, The Heat, The Call, The Purge, Carrie, After Earth, and Paranormal Activity.
In 2012 and 2013 Garcia was recognized by The Imagen Foundation as “One of the Most Powerful and Influential Latinos in Entertainment”. She holds a BA in Media Arts from the University of Arizona.
